It is important to review all projects as well as project
candidates on a regular basis. In traditional business this was performed once
per year. This is no longer sufficient. The world is more dynamic. Management is
besieged with new projects all of the time. If the period of time between
project reviews is too long, then there is a greater danger of new projects
being started one at a time. Therefore, the project review and setting of the
project slate should be carried out more often—three to four times per year.

This book focuses on multiple as well as single projects.
Projects tend to interrelate and have interdependencies. That is why an
important part of the project analysis is to identify how projects relate to
each other.
