Training
for all Other Employees
For all other employees, the Best Practice companies offer
training in CI basics as well as in the firm's CI needs. One analyst from the
law enforcement community suggested that all new employees in a firm, as a part
of their "initial training," be presented with an overview of the CI process and
how it applies in that particular firm. The objective is to provide both an
awareness of the CI process as well and how data, suitable for the firm's CI
process, can be collected and reported. He suggested that
the course should also contain a general review of the CI cycle and a basic
understanding of CI analysis. [5]
The goal is to enable all employees to help in collecting CI.
This is accomplished by educating employees on what CI can do—and what it cannot
do. Again, as with training for the end user, this should never be a onetime
effort: it should be offered on a regular basis, for similar reasons.
